This weekend is all go for Team Luck with not one but two festivals over two days - Field Day on Saturday and Underage on Sunday. Luckily they are both taking place in Victoria Park in East London which is just a 15 minute hop 'n' skip from Superette. Not only will we be playing our frenzied festival game Rock'n'Roll Tiddlywinks on the Village Green but we'll have two craftin' tables in the D.I.Y Fashion Fun tent. Today we've been creating our new craft kits especially for the festivals and prepping all the materials, templates and bits'n'bobs. We're also bringing our Kaleido-Crazy D.I.Y kits so pop in and make some fun rocker jewellery with us - charm bracelets, cluster earrings, multi dangle necklaces and much more!
If you fancy coming along I think there are still tickets available for both Field Day and Underage.
Fruity fashion accessories are always a big hit in the Superette studio and we're excited about this years range of tropical basics! We've chosen our top five fruits - ace apples, cha-cha-cherries, perky pears, dazzlin pineapples, cute bananas and sweet strawberries and made them into a set of four fashion jewellery staples - sassy stud earrings, hot-to-trot hair slides, cocktail o'clock rings and pop brooches. With 20 different combinations available you can pick'n'mix your very own fruit cocktail of fashion jewellery so every occasion is covered...
Ditch the danglers and check out our all new Tutti Frutti POP earrings - the perfect summer fun statement studs! They’re light’n’easy to wear and pack a punch in wham bam pop colours. Whether you want to add some fruity pizzazz to your picnic’n’park look or bedazzle a beau these Pop Studs are perfect for adding a taste of tropicana to any outfit.
It’s double fun time with a pair of Tutti Frutti POP hairslides. Fasten your pin curls with perky pears or sweep long hair up on one side and pin with ace apples for a dazzlin' 80s do - the super shade of green looks great with gold sequinned dresses. Get inspired by the queen of cabaret Carmen Miranda and pile hair up high and fasten with pineapple and banana slides. Sweeten up your datyime summer tresses with strawberry slides and fix a bed head of skinny plaits with some ch-ch-cherries! Oh my, how you'll LOVE your fruity cutie hair do!
Whether you're lucky enough to be jetting off to the Aloha State or just daydreamin' of a dip in the Blue Lagoon put on a Tutti Frutti POP ring and you'll soon be ready for cocktail o'clock. I'll be wearing mine to kitsch tiki bars whilst watching some cabaret cuties shimmy and shake in their spangled stage costumes. Pop 'em on, and build your outfit around their fruity goodness.
Become Queen of the Dancehall goes sixties pop this summer and pile on our bright plastic fruit brooches onto a vintage leotard worn with white tights and mary jane heels. For daytime go geek chic and pin a fruity-cutie to your seaside stripe shirt and wear with short shorts. On a Saturday night dazzle like a cabaret cutie and pin one or two to your fascinator and wear with a banana bikini. Carmen Miranda would be proud!
If you're London based and a follower of Vogue's Daily News then you probably headed down to the V&A Village fete this weekend just gone to play Rock'n'Roll Tiddlywinks. If you didn't come along then whilst you missed a whole lotta fun, it's not all bad news! You too now have the chance to win one of our limited edition Rock'n'Roll Kitten necklaces which we designed specially for the fete and you don't even have to have good hand eye co-ordination! Just hop on over to one of our fave blogs Disney Rollergirl to enter the competition. Good luck!
If it's summertime then it's V&A Village Fete time - a real highlight in the Lady Luck Rules OK calendar of events! We had so much fun making personalised rosette name necklaces last year but this year we fancied creating some kind of giant game for people to play... so inspired by my two favourite things *kittens* and *the Ramones* we devised a super fun game called Rock'n'Roll Tiddlywinks.
We designed and built a throwing gallery in the shape of a pair of 8 foot kittens holding records and customised some mini frisbees which became the 'winks. Players had to throw 2 out of their 12 'winks through any of the targets to the sounds of a 30 second snippet of the Ramones. Easy, right?
We arrived at the V&A fairly early on the Friday morning to set up our stand and were treated to several down pours and a monster thunderstorm. As luck would have it, the skies cleared and when the tickets went on sale at 6pm they were pretty much sold out by the time the doors were flung open half an hour later. We could see the crazy queue wrapping around the outside of the garden as we started to test run our game with 15 minutes to spare...eek.
This years theme was a Jubilee style celebration and the whole of the John Madjeski Garden was decorated in red, white and blue with union jack flags rustling wildly in the wind. The huge water feature in the centre of the garden was drained out and replaced with rows of tables like a 40s street party.
It took less than the length of a Ramones track for our Kiosk to be swamped with eager fete go-ers wanting to play, win, buy, rummage in the super sale box and cheer players on.
Customers started to play the game in pairs which made for a real frenzy! Hey ho! lets throw!
It wasn't too bad if a customer didn't win because we had cutie-pie consolation prizes and every player was entered into our Twitter raffle. We're going to announce the first raffle winner later today so keep your ticket safe and follow our sweet tweets.
It was totally amazing when players did win because the whole crowd got so excited jumping up and down and cheering. It was a blast - thanks to everyone for really getting into the spirit of things!
Winners were treated to a limited edition rock'n'roll kitten necklace which we designed specially for the fete as seen in the Fashion Statement section of the Guardian last week! Yay!
For all of our lovely customers who live far, far away we haven't forgotten about you! Oh no! You too can win one of our itty-bitty kitty necklaces on the super ace Disney Rollergirl blog.
Plus we've uploaded oodles of photos from the fete onto our flickr page!
It’s been a week long craft-a-thon in the Superette studio! All hands are on deck to finish our GIANT game of Rock'n'Roll tiddlywinks for the V&A Village Fete this weekend. The V&A is once again showcasing stalls by the best up and coming British designers, artists and makers, and this year it’s their tenth anniversary so it’s a jubilee style celebration! We’re very excited about getting our game rolling... but first, we want to give you a little sneaky-peek behind the scenes so you can check out our progress.
Leah, LLROK’s full time recruit, has been cracking on with the making of the star attraction - two giant kittens! The whole concept is inspired by Leona's two favourite things her kittens Joey and Dee Dee and the Ramones. It's been a blast seeing them scaled up to nearly 8ft in height! Crikey! Leah's a fan of all animals so this has been a really fun project for her and she’s been able to put her illustration skills to good use.
Fine Art graduate Alice has been going paint crazy with the rock ‘n’ roll radio! After a serious degree in the arts, Alice is happy to be making something fun, quirky and girly! She came up with the ‘look’ with friend Julia – they decided on bright colours and chunky features that resemble an old school 70’s boom box, taking inspiration from Leona’s favourite film ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.’
We’ll be hosting our game from a circus style kiosk and today Chantal has been laying red vinyl onto a sheet of oilcloth to create the roof part. Last but not least Leona has been tweaking the rules of the game which go a little something like this...
1-2-3-4! Bop over to the Lady Luck Rules OK stand for a frenzied game of Rock’n’Roll Tiddlywinks. Once we’ve pressed play on the Rock’n’Roll Radio you have a 30 second snippet of a Ramones track to throw your ‘winks through a series of targets cut from a pair of GIANT kittens. Take aim to win a super cute necklace which has been specially designed for the Village Fete. Hey Ho, Lets Throw!
Hope you can come along and see our finished stand in all it's glory! Hope it'll be finished in time...
Entry to the fete costs £3 adults, 50p children. Tickets will be made available for purchase on the day from 18.00 on Friday 24 July and 12.30 on Saturday 25 July. Places are limited so arrive as early as you can!
Say "bonjour!" to our all new collection of MINI necklaces - the superlicious peanut sized pendants.
The cutie pie trio of illustrated enamel necklaces are Shell Belle - your new seaside buddy; Song Bird - an itty-bitty bird in a party hat and Sprinkle Pop - a pretty lil' popsicle. The collection is made in summertime shades of sorbet including peach, peppermint, candy floss pink and a dash of lemon.
New for this season we've introduced MAXI brooches in the same style as the MINI necklaces just much BIGGER. Sundae Girl is the coolest ice cream treat in a stripy tub and Shutterbug is our farewell salute to the original Polaroid instant camera. Both designs look ace pinned to a breezy cotton blazer or dinky denim jacket.
The experts from the British Origami Society will be holding free workshops on the art of paper folding. It’s taking place every Saturday throughout the month of July from 12-5pm in the Japan Cente Bookshop. I'm looking forward to watching the professionals at work and then having a go myself. I'd quite like to take home a little family of animals but we'll see what happens! Find out more info - here!
Today we're designing a piece inspired by one of our favourite songs performed by our ALL TIME fave band - The Ramones. "Baby I Love You" has a very special place in my heart, but more about that another time... It's Gabba Gabba Hey all the way today!
Calling all D.I.Y dollies and crafty cuties... the Craft It Up collection is making a come back and for starters we have an all new Kaleido-Crazy Charm Bracelet kit! With 12 summer fresh original charms specially designed by Lady Luck Rules OK and cut from a super pretty sorbet shaded acrylic. The shapes include all our fave silhouettes from cute cherries, fawns and ice lollies to rockin' musical notes, lightning bolts and sunglasses.
The kit includes everything you need to make your very own super jangly piece of wrist candy. The silver plated bracelet chain is cut to exactly the correct length with sturdy clasp and jump rings PLUS easy to follow instructions. If you've not made jump ring jewellery before, don't worry, we'll take you through it step-by-step with helpful illustrations. All you need to complete this kit is a pair of flat nosed jewellery pliers which can be purchased here and from all good craft shops.
Crafting it up is way more fun with your friends! Why not gather up your best pals and host a fun filled crafternoon picnic over the summer hols or a crafty party for a friends birthday. Hang out the bunting, bake a cake, open some soda pops and press play on the stereo! When the stock of cute charms arrived in the studio yesterday we took a well deserved break and made our very own Kaledio-Crazy bracelets. Wanna make one too? Click here!

We're thrilled to have been invited back by the V&A to participate in the Village Fete again this year. The Fete has been an annual event at the museum for a whopping ten years so to celebrate they're turning the John Madejski garden into a Jubilee style celebration.
We had a lot of fun coming up with ideas for our stand and this year we've designed a giant game for everyone to play which combines two of my all time fave things: kittens and rock'n'roll! I don't want to give too much away at this point but "Rock'n'Roll Tiddlywinks" will be super exciting to play and winners will walk away with an exclusive piece of Lady Luck Rules OK jewellery which has been specially designed for the Village Fete. Plus losers will walk away with a cutie pie consolation prize.
Other stall holders include - Rob Ryan, If You Could, Garudio Studiage, Jelly Mongers and Poke London.
Psst... don't forget the fete gets REALLY busy so arrive early to ensure you get in to play, win and have lots of summer time fun. We can't wait!
