It's the day after our 3 day winter show in Berlin at the extraordinarily huge trade show Bread and Butter. It was a little subdued this season (maybe because it was snowing outside) but I'm excited about the new stores who will be stocking LLROK! The supercool store Big Brobot is right in the heart of East Berlin just a few roads away from my fave flea market on Boxhagener Platz. They have purchased an atomic pack full of 70 pieces of jewellery with a new LLROK perspex stand! Red Rabbit in Kolne, Germany and Outcast also in Germany have snapped up a fun selection of Go Go Girls from Outerspace. My regular stockists Exota from Amsterdam and Suger Babe from Italy placed reorders along with a few other European stores. I also had my eye out for a German Agent or a distributor - I collected a few cards and will do my research when I return home. I didn't see anyone from the UK so hopefully they'll be coming to Margin in 2 weeks...

We partied a little too - we went to the BBB opening party in a disused department store from 1903 with our friends from Finland (who luckily had the booth next to us - in such a large arena it's really nice to see some familiar faces). The night after we had our dinner in the wild White Trash Cafe we both had Cosmopolitans and Elvis Burgers. Ha ha. Today we're off to have our breakfast at the top of the Fernsehturm - the 1969 television tower that is visible from everywhere in Berlin and houses a revolving restaurant. Then it's time to go shopping! Yippee!
Thanks to the eagle eyed Vivian Chui we discovered our Pop Drop single earring and Pop Rocker necklace made the front cover of the cool cat Japanese magazine Cutie in December. Vivian was even kind enough to send us a copy! We salute you!

Wow, thanks for your great response to my work experience ad! I started interviewing people last week and I'm looking forward to building a crack team of creatives here at Superette! I have already taken on London College of Fashion student Katy every Friday for a few months, she is gonna help craft and learn about how I run my website and shop. I have MA student Olivia every Thursday who wants to learn all about admin/press and how to run a small business. Zena is a graduated illustrator who wants to learn how to make jewellery and she'll be helping out a few mornings a week. And Sarah who's in her 2nd year on the Fashion Marketing course at Northumbria University will be doing her 3 month work placement here full time starting in Feb. I still have a few places left especially for graphic/web design students or photography students. I am particularly interested in finding people for 3 month work placements so they can really get their teeth into things! Ideally we'll have 2 people at a time and I welcome booking in people for throughout the year. If you think you have skills to offer LLROK and a keen idea what you want to learn about send us an e-mail! We also need to know the dates you're available.

Last week has been all about preparing for the trade shows where I will exhibit my new collection to press and buyers from around the world. I go to Berlin on Tuesday to take part in Bread and Butter and then Margin is in London on Feb 12th and 13th. I picked up legendary Parisian boutique Colette last season so I have my fingers crossed Sarah will like this collection too! We have designed new packaging (the photo above is a sneak peek) each design has it's own personalised display card based on a fantasy B-Movie. We have also designed perspex stands for the jewellery to be displayed on in store. It's all been very exciting. Once the shows are over I'm going to launch the new collection on the website with a set of snazzy new e-cards. I know the site is soooo low on stock, so for the final week of the sale we're adding more sale stock so join the mailing list and you'll be the first to know!
