On Saturday we were craftin' it up at Clutter City in Norwich - which you can read about here. After we'd packed away we had an hour to kill before our train back to London so we took a stroll through to the town centre. Along the way we passed a dozen or so churches many of which had some kind of vintage/jumble/second hand sale happening. Although it was St Gregory's Church on Pottergate which pulled us through it's doors after seeing their A-board announcing it was 'Cupcake Day'.
Once inside it felt like an alternative happening in Kreuzberg meets twee village fete including vintage clothes, decoupage furniture, bric a brac, a café, a little library of books in one corner with comfy chairs so you could sit down and read, art to look at and art for sale and a range of instruments strewn about place which you are invited to pick up and play at your leisure. The ladies running the joint were a little been-there-done-that frosty but I didn't really care too much about that because the whole idea was great and the inside of the church was really beautiful. Norwich was just full of surprises.
Great that you liked Norwich - Clutter City was quieter than I had expected but there were some great stalls around! (:
Glad you went in as I wondered what was in there but sat outside instead, craving a little sun light.
