Teenage Fan Club is a kick ass collection of super soft tees adorned with vintage pop rocker heart motifs. Each heart stars a 1970s pin-up popstar! Here's the rock'n'roll call - cool cat starman David Bowie; Marc Bolan's T-Rex; leather clad queen of rock'n'oll Suzi Quatro; Rod the mod Stewart; Heartbreak Hotel rebel Elvis; chart-toppin' teen David Cassidy; bubble gum boy band The Osmonds; purveyors of post-punk-power-pop Sweet; and flamin' hot Slade. Wear your candy coloured tee with skin tight faded blue jeans cut off at the knee, lashings of lip gloss and star shaped sunglasses...the perfect look for beatnik gals with a glam rock spirit. Beep beep!
About the T-shirts!
All our tees are supplied by super cool downtown LA brand American Apparel. The sweat shop free, youth directed company offer organic cotton products with a seriously ace quality and fit. We have chosen their most popular gals item - the Fine Jersey T in aqua, jet black, cherry red and hot pink. It's the softest, smoothest, best lookin' T-shirt available anywhere!
Crucial info:
• 100% Fine Jersey cotton, combed for softness and comfort
• 100% Baby Rib cotton stretchable collar for comfort and durability
• Contoured to flatter women's curves
• Reinforced shoulder construction to maintain shape through repeated washings
• Durable double-stitched bottom hem
The Correct Fit:
American Apparel tees are cut for a youthful shape and fit a little snug to flatter almost any body type. We offer the following size range:
How to measure yourself:
Chest: Measure under arms around the fullest part of the bust. Be sure to keep tape level across back and comfortably loose.
Waist: Measure around natural waist with a loose tape.
About the heat transfers!
The pop rocker hearts are original 1970s plastisol heat transfers picked up by Lady Luck on her thrifty travels. Each transfer is heat pressed onto the tee in our Superette studio as and when the website orders are received. Washing instructions are dead simple: pop in the washing machine on a 40 degree wash and if you iron please turn the shirt inside out. NEVER iron directly onto the heart - it'll be messy!

Colourways!
We have pre-matched the colourways of pop rocker hearts and tees. The 4 variations are:
Cherry red T-shirt with denim blue heart
Sky blue T-shirt with sunny yellow heart
Jet black T-shirt with lipstick red heart
Hot pink T-shirt with vintage green heart
However if your heart is set on a different colourway pairing send us an e-mail and I'm sure your wish will be granted...
Finally, here is a fun description about all our pin-up popstars so when strangers stop you in the street to tell you how super duper cute your T-shirt is you can splurt the blurb Paul Gambaccini style!

The Sweet were a tasty 1970's British rock band who brazenly sported their delicious take on the glam rock image. They had several super popular teenage anthems ranging from their more pop orientated tunes: “Little Willy" and “Wig Wam Bam" to their more rock-a-licious hits: “Ballroom Blitz" and “Block Buster". Most remembered for their catchy lyrics and seriously glammed-up appearance, the four-man-band, fronted by Brian Connolly, rocked on in glitter, platform boots, chain mail shirts and lashings of make-up. You go boys! |

David Bowie, the original cool kid chameleon of pop, predicted many wild and wonderful trends, shifting his super different style and persona, influencing the coolest glam-rockers of his time. Most notable for his self-confessed savvy guitar, piano, keyboard and saxophone playing, Bowie first rose into the ranks of rock royalty with his heady and free-spirited 1969 folk rock single “Space Oddity". However his best known singles have been “Fame" and “Heroes", loved for their freaky yet funky flamboyance and anthemic qualities, alongside the truly androgenous glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. His heaven-sent hits predated their own genres making him a truly mod and influential artist. |

Suzi Quatro was once the ultimate four-way threat - a singer, bassist, radio personality and actress. This peaches-and-cream girlie had it seriously going on! Keeping the coolness in the family she began her musical career with the Pleasure Seekers and Cradle with her similarly musically marvellous sisters Patti and Arlene. Her first super successful hit was “Can the Can" in 1973, a hit-tastic chart-breaker throughout Europe and Australia, followed by “48 crash", “Daytona Demon", “Devil Gate Drive", also runaway records. Quatro married her super-cute long-time guitarist Len Tuckey, keeping to her musical roots at heart whilst still keeping it cool. If you knew Suzi... |

Slade remain one of the most recognisable acts of the glam rock movement, and were, at their peak, the most commercially popular and way-cool band in the UK. The crazy group burst onto the scene in the late 1960's, releasing their supremely groovacious rocky beats on the public, whilst stopping now and then to dust the glitter from their beards. With early 70's hits such as “Merry Christmas Everybody", their most famous song, being bopped-along-to regularly at Christmas times ever after. Their iconic and over-the-top musical and personal styles have made them a loopy yet legendary British Christmas essential. |

Elvis Presley, known more simply as Elvis, “The King", or “The King of Rock'n'Roll" (just by his mum and dad), was not only the cutest but the most legendary singer in American history. This boy was the cream of the crop, working as a music producer and actor whilst simultaneously causing the nation to swoon and throw their undies at him! He was a super-sized success, living life in the spotlight at all times and dating some major league teen queens, including ex-beauty queen Linda Thompson, before marrying his perfect Priscilla. His antics were a little too frisky at times however, as his performance of “Hound Dog" sparked a super stormy cloud of controversy over his naughty “gyrations" while singing. Jewel encrusted catsuit, anyone? |

David Cassidy was once-upon-a-time a record-breaking wonder boy and was the original teen heart-throb, acting and singing his way into thousands of 1970's girlies' hearts. At his peak this cheeky chappie was one of the world's highest paid tank-top wearing entertainers. Having had international success with The Partridge Family and hits such as “Rock Me Baby", this pouty-lipped pin-up quickly became a teen idol, earning as much as $15,000! Although no longer in the lime light Cassidy was the first of his kind, a true teen cutie with a devoted female following and a penchant for posing naked on the cover of Rolling Stone. C'mon, get happy! |

“Rod the Mod", the original purveyor of the classic mullet, is an English born hot-to-trot singer and songwriter. Most well-known for his grandpa like gravelly voice, as exemplified in his supreme-o signature song “Maggie May". Stewart's 1971 album Every Picture Tells a Story made him a heaven-sent household name, with “Maggie May" named in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll, and the totally spunky Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols regarding his second album Faces as a main influence on the Brit punk rock movement. Also known as being a true lethario lover Rod's girlfriend at the time was art student Susannah Boffey proving that even the sexiest rockers love the arty girls! |

The Osmonds were the picture perfect, all American family pop group. This cutsie family force achieved heavyweight worldwide success as the ultimate teenybopper idols of the 1970's with their candy-sweet tunes and cleaner-than-clean image. Their scrumptious breakthrough hit, 1971's “One Bad Apple", featuring the yummy vocals of Merrill and Donny, bore an uncanny similarity to the “bubblegum soul" of their contemporaries, The Jackson 5. An all-round super-dooper hit, the group even experimented with more groovy and mildly psychedelic tunes with their hit “Yo-Yo". A tribute to gleaming dental work, The Osmonds are real crazy horses! |
![]() |
T.Rex, fronted by elfin like Marc Bolan, produced an uber cool mixture of folk-rock ditties and the odd spiritual homage to Eddie Cochran. The answer to Essex's need for a “token underground group", T.Rex was founded in 1967 London and found success as a 1970's glam rock group. Marc Bolan was a cute little dreamer who looked and played the role of an elfin country minstrel and had a host of rocker buddies, such as David Bowie. His kooky voice and songs were dismissed by critics at first, yet his original lyrics and alternative cat-like antics led him on to release totally memorable albums with especially rock'n'roll names, such as “My people were fair and had sky in their hair...but now they're content to wear stars on their brows". Rock on Marc! |

WOW!!!! Ahhh the wait is over! Can't decide which one I like the best-all of them please! :D
They're amaaaaaaaaaaaazing Leona :) xx

First comment, please be the first comment been checking all day! Looking good Leona! :)

Yes, yes, yes and yes!!! I've been so excited to see these!! I must get the Bowie one, I think Twiggy will appreciate it when she arrives : D : D : D
Oh, and T-Rex - I love me some Marc Bolan!

THANK YOU FOR THE BOWIE TEE! I've been waiting forever for a Bowie LLROK product and here it is! They are all adorable and I will be sure to purchase one. I LOVE YOU!

Have done a bit more looking...
The I love the osmonds might be more suitable for my mother as she has told me on many occasions how much she used to love Donny Osmond and the rest of the brood.
I actually am a Rod Stewart Fan. Stay with Me - The Faces is one of my top songs and only a very small number of people have never danced to Do ya think I'm sexy (you'd tap your feet at the very least)! Mr John Peel was a bit of a Stewart/Faces Fan too so that just proves his credentials!
Anyway now I need to try even harder to get a proper Job, so I can afford to kit myself out with a (wait fo it) 'fan'-tastic t-shirt!
:o)

Those tees are absolutely lush, especially the Elvis one. Can't wait for the totes, i've put some money aside so as soon as they grace us with their utterly cool presence, i'll be able to snap one up.
Forgot to say before, but i love my yellow Tiger Beat necklace and the Young Lovers necklace is completely adorable. Thank you! xx

Woah there sir!
may actually have to buy my mum a tee as well as myself, as shes the biggest bowie fan ever, since she was about 14! when she met him a few years ago she told me all she could say to him was "oooohh...." hee hee. i'm extremely inspired by all of you creative ladies at LLROK and lazy oaf, i'm doing graphic design (BA) but over the summer i'm making my own tees (my mum got me a sewing machine for my birthday, coolest gift ever??) and maybe selling them, i'll have to see how good they turn out! can't wait to see the totes, loving the tote action! x x x

Hey Rainbow Mermaid,
Unfortunately American Apparel don't make the Jersey T in a larger size and my heart was set on this t-sirt because it's such an ace shape. However, if you have a cotton tee you'd like me to heat press a Pop Rocker heart onto send an e-mail to leona@ladyluckrulesok.com and we'll try and figure something out!
