Tjallamalla had won a design competition with their new label Scene and the prize was the concession in PUB! They had a great spot opposite the lift and as we arrived each day their rails filled up with the most adorable clothing - think high waisted 70s pale blue jeans and floaty frocks with ace prints. It turned out they kinda liked our jewellery too and they wanted to sell our goodies in their 2 other stores: one in Sofo (trendy part of Sodermalm in Stockholm) and the other in student town Malmo. Hurrah! Our new Swedish BF Andy Candy took us to the Tjallamalla store in Sofo the next day and introduced us to Jenny (a hot rockabilly chick with flame red hair) who manages the store and My (a real Carrie Cassette Playa character) who runs the Malmo store. My excitiedly told us how she was going to go back to PUB this week to buy our Sprinkles necklace so we'd saved her a trip. The store is jam packed full of clothing by around 150 different designers from all around the world ranging from large designers to small crafters. The first store opened 13 years ago and now also has a thriving online store too. So if you live or go to Stockholm be sure to pay them a visit... When walking into Mini Mini for the first time I went into a kind of deranged frenzy - the last time I experienced this was as a fourteen year old girl arriving at the Clothes Show Live. My feet did a kind of river dance motion followed by high pitched squeals as I couldn’t decide what to look at first and within minutes my arms were piled high with cuteness. I’ve been a fan of Mini Mini for years and it’s always been on my “hot list” of stores I hoped one day would carry Lady Luck Rules OK. Such is my dedication that when our plane landed at JFK at 12.30pm on Thursday by 2.30pm I was chatting to Dana, one of the owners. We were in town to sell our wares at the Renegade Craft fair and I invited her to check out our booth and so she did on the Sunday and she said our stuff was “hot!”...by Monday we were back in the store handing over Doceys, Bam Bams, Tiger Beats, Pony Clubs, Tropicanas, pretty much everything...job done! Now don’t get my wrong I’m hardly some kind of ball breakin’ business woman, I think I probably spent as much in the store as I made from the sale. But hey, when you find jelly shoes, slip on wedges with heart shaped cut outs, Sound Girl dresses, Loyal Army tees, 31 Corn Lane shoppers, lipstick shaped umbrellas and eighties jewellery galore all under one roof - a girl's got no choice!
