It's been a bit strange coming into the studio since Saturday's "Everything Must Go" sale because the shop part is all empty and feels a bit sad. On a brighter note we begin the renovation in a few days time and I'm so excited about having a bigger studio space, woohoo!!! The sale was, as you might have guessed, pretty crazy. Luckily Emma and Tunmike helped me prep the day before so all Sam, Penni and I had to do on the morning before we flung the doors open was decorate the cupcakes. I had the most difficulty parting with a small selection of my fawn and owl collection. I took a parting photograph so I don't forget their little faces. I'm sure they've all gone to loving new homes!

There were lots of fun things to be snapped up at super low prices. The best of the bargains included a large selection of my Babycham collection including big beermats, trinket trays and ornaments; lots of novelty shaped jewellery holders; a record player shaped jewellery box; lots of props we've used in photoshoots including a 1970s rainbow accordian and piles of cheap charms which had teeny tiny imperfections.

We organised most of the sale items into big price fixed rummage boxes to make it easy for customers to budget their spend. Although as everyone poured into the shop it was quite a frenzy of grabbing what you could! The ice cream goodie bags (pictured above) were a big hit and the whole pile was gone in a matter of minutes.

The sale was advertised to start at 11am but an array of little faces began to appear outside the window at 10am. I held them off until about half past but it was sooo cold outside I couldn't take the guilt. As soon as I opened the doors the shelves were emptied, it was crazy!
Superette really is a small space so it wasn't long before you couldn't squeeze in another soul. Breathe in gals!

We handed out all the baskets we had and watched in amazement before people started to trickle through to the back to pay and claim their yummy cupcake! It was nice to have a quick chat with everyone as they paid to tell them about our new plans for the studio and reminisce about times gone by with our regulars and ex interns.

I'm so sorry for the people who came after midday - the shop was completely stripped bare! Hopefully the cupcakes softened the blow, I heard many a friend/Mum/sibling apologising to their Lady Luck fan friend for not arriving sooner. Honestly we had no idea it was going to be over so quickly! Pictured above is Chloe one of our interns who managed to grab a shop display Russian Doll and pictured below is one happy lady emerging from the crowd.

Sadly it was also our lovely Penni's last day as with no shop it means no weekend manager role. I'll miss Penni very much and just wanted to say a big thank you for all her super work over the past few years. We're heading into new times here at Lady Luck Rules OK it's a bit scary but very exciting. I can't wait to show you all what we have planned for this year so stay tuned!

I've got good news and bad news... Over the past year we've been developing a series of new techniques so we can produce our own designs in-house but we need MORE space! So the bad news is we've decided to close down the shop part of Superette to extend our studio space. The good news is we'll be holding an "Everything Must Go" sale for one day only on Saturday 10th January 2009! We're looking to completely clear the space ready to create our sparkling new design and production studio. So set aside a little of your Christmas money and pop on down to help us say goodbye to the Superette shop by scooping up some super sale delights. Nearly everything will be £10 or under! PLUS our super popular grab bags worth £1 to £10!

We created a Facebook event so you can let us know if you're coming along...I want to make sure I bake enough cakes! Click here.

We've just closed the doors to our first ever Superette Saturday Street Sale and I'm exhausted! We arrived at the shop at 8am this morning to ice the cakes we'd made at home last night, set up the tables and rails and hang the bunting! Our first customer was a sweet guy on his way to work and he bought both of Sam's Lynch paintings and my roller girl print. It then went crazy! Crowds of thrift lovin' ladies all arrived at once and our rummage boxes were cleared out in double quick time.

Whilst Penni and I bagged up everyone's purchases our lovely new intern Joanne offered around cups of tea and cake! In between the rushes we managed to snag a cupcake too, yum yum.

We were lucky to get a sunny day with beautiful blue skies and it was really lovely to see so many old faces! Suzy and Ian from Nude came along with their teeny tiny 6 week old baby Astrid. We caught up with a bunch of Lady Luck's past interns - Hannah, Leah, Ann, Julie, Heather - great to see all of you! And super to see lots of girls and guys we met at Loud Tate last month. Plus lots of familiar faces from past LLROK events - it's always so nice to see you girls! I hope you managed to get everything home OK, some girls literally had bin bags full of goodies.

Superette's dear friend Betsy and her Mum came along to sell stuff too! They had the tables and rail on the end and their vintage finds were snapped up a plenty. I think we'll make the sale a bi-annual event so maybe we'll do it all again around Spring time 2009.

But back to 2008 and we've got a new collection to launch...soon...very soon. I promise!

Remember our little yard sale back in January? Well, this is the long awaited follow up street sale and it's bigger and better than ever! On Saturday 11th October we'll be taking over the street outside Superette as all the Lady Luck Rules OK girl gang have a good ole clear out! There will be rails and tables of second hand and vintage clothing; price fixed rummage boxes from £1 to £10; bags and bags of charms, beads and jewellery; fabric; cute bric-a-brac; ex-shop display goods from mirrors and tree shaped jewellery holders to full size mannequins. Nearly EVERYTHING will be £10 or under.
If it rains? Don't worry we'll bring the sale inside the shop so whatever the weather put the date in your diary and get ready for a fun day of thrifting. Word has it there will also be home baking and pots of tea so you can take a well earned break afterwards. Hope you can make it!
